Sunlight is actually made of all colors mixed together, like a glowing rainbow traveling through the air. As sunlight hits tiny air particles, the shorter, bluer waves scatter more than the longer ones. That scattered blue light fills the sky, making it look bright blue from every angle. So whenever you look up, you see all that scattered blue light, painting the sky in its beautiful hue. And that's why our sky is blue! Now go out and enjoy that wonderful blue blanket above you.
